With such beautiful weather, Beyond Wonderland is the true start to festival season (sorry, Coachella!), especially in SoCal. BEYOND Wonderland 2012: My white vest makes another appearance. There was, of course, the exception of Beyond 2012, when the mere presence of Armin van Buuren and the ASOT stage caused abnormally low temperatures and rain. Entry Requirements & COVID Guidelines. What form of verification is accepted? Please bring a copy of your vaccination card, digital vaccine record, or negative test results and be prepared to provide it at the festival entrance. A photo of your vaccination card, digital vaccine record, or negative test results on your phone will also be accepted.

This year, the Dreamstate and Bassrush brands are bringing the euphoric trance feels and bombastic bass, respectively, to Beyond Wonderland SoCal, with two curated stages featuring the best in each genre. Dreamstate dominates an outdoor stage Friday, March 18, and Bassrush takes over Saturday, March 19.

Keep an eye and ear out, and you’ll find fresh sounds in every corner of Beyond Wonderland. Marshmello, a bass artist with jet-puffed headgear, is one name you won’t be able to miss as you wander the grounds, while fellow bass music up-and-comers Troyboi and Ghastly bring the noise.

For devoted trance-heads, the electric rumpus doesn’t stop there. You’re in for a psychedelic treat with Vini Vici, who will be blasting their own brand of psytrance during their first-ever SoCal performance. The Myon & Shane 54 Trance Showcase will also spotlight the duo’s brand of melodic, ambient trance. The Trance Family nation will also receive a special treat as genre legend Ferry Corsten resurrects his much-celebrated Gouryella project for its live debut performance in the US.

Along with the new noise, there is no shortage of fan-favorite DJs and heavy hitters on the bill, including Dada Life, Alesso, Carnage, Armand Van Helden, Deorro, and many more incredible artists playing anthem after banging anthem all weekend long.

Check out the full lineup below, and stream a selection of key tracks from some of this year’s Beyond Wonderland artists.

Beyond Wonderland SoCal 2016 is happening Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19, at the San Manuel Amphitheater & Grounds in San Bernardino, CA. For more information and tickets to Beyond Wonderland SoCal 2016, visit the official website.

Zedd ft. Jon Bellion “Beautiful Now” (Marshmello Remix)

The legendary Z-Trip closed out the Funk House both nights of the festival with two genre-spanning sets that were fundamentally cool and so much damn fun. During Friday’s set, he cut the music long enough to give a powerful (and F-bomb-laden) rally cry that was more or less the electronic music equivalent of Bill Pullman’s Earth-unifying speech in Independence Day. To quote Z-Trip:

We’re trying to bring back the funk, the hip-hop, the soul, the b-boy shit, the breaks—just to change it up, man. You know what I mean? So you don’t always have to be fucking raging with your fucking hands in the air at every fucking rise and drop and shit. This is your alternative. This is where you can come to fucking cut loose and do some different shit—hear some different music, some eclectic music. How many people love fucking music? Make some noise! That’s what’s up.

I’m not knocking that other music. I love that other music, and in fact, I love playing those other stages; it’s fucking fun. But what we’re doing here right now, we’re going to take you back to the fucking stages that we used to play… before it fucking turned into raves and big shit—when it was in a warehouse, and they threw the fucking hip-hop guys in the basement. Well, we’re not in the basement anymore. We’re here tonight, and we’re going to fucking rock it for you. Are you guys with that special fucking mission tonight? Then let’s do this.

And the crowd goes wild. – Katie Bain
